               On Insulting Others

Narrated by Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab (May Allah be pleased with them) :
While the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was sitting with some of his companions, a man reviled AbuBakr and insulted him. But AbuBakr remained silent. He insulted him twice, but AbuBakr controlled himself. He insulted him thrice and AbuBakr took revenge on him. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) got up when AbuBakr took revenge. AbuBakr said: Were you angry with me, Messenger of Allah? The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) replied: An angel came down from Heaven and he was rejecting what he had said to you. When you took revenge, a devil came down. I was not going to sit when the devil came down.

Allah ke Rasool (ﷺ) Apne ashaab ke saath baithe the ki aik aadmi aaya aur AbuBakr (R.A.) ki tauheen ki. Lekin AbuBakr (R.A.) khamosh rhe. Usne do baar unki tauheen ki lekin AbuBakr (R.A.) ne khud par kaabu rakha. Phir usne teen martaba tauheen ki aur AbuBakr (R.A.) ne usse badla le liya. Jab AbuBakr (R.A.) ne inteqaam le liya tab Allah ke Rasool (ﷺ) uthe. AbuBakr (R.A.) ne kaha, "Aap mujhse naaraz the Allah ke Rasool?"  Aap (ﷺ) ne farmaya, "Aik farishta aasman se utar aaya tha aur voh uss aadmi ki baate thukra (reject) rha tha. Phir jab tumne badla le liya toh aik Shaitan utar aaya. Aur jab Shaitan utar aaya maine baithna pasand nahi kiya."
